Internship Program
This program is designed for students who would like to gain work experience in a Canadian company and in an English speaking environment. The internship placement is unpaid and must be combined with an equal amount of full time ESL studies. Placements are available in a variety of fields such as: Recreation, Community Organizations, Education, Sports, Tourism and Entertainment.
Program Length – 2, 4, 8 or 12 weeks.
Program begins weekly for ages 19 and up
Intermediate to Advanced level

Volunteer Program
This program is designed for students who have a lower English ability but would like to volunteer in the community in a more relaxed environment. Placements are available at various organizations, community centers, art galleries, museums, non-profit groups, senior centers and at festivals, musical and sporting events.
Program Length 1 to 5 days.
Program begins weekly for ages 14 and up

Working Holiday and Youth Mobility Program
The Working Holiday and Youth Mobility program offer employment opportunities in Kelowna and the Okanagan Valley along with a full range of English as a Second Language programs.

This program is currently available to citizens of Austria, Belgium, Chile, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Korea, Latvia, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Taiwan. Specific conditions apply for each country. Please contact the nearest Canadian Embassy in your home country for information.

A variety of employment opportunities exist in Kelowna due to the cities' resort designation, agricultural base and steady rate of growth.

Work Permit
Students can change from a study permit to a work permit after their formal studies. IGK will assist students with this process after completion of 24 weeks of full time study at IGK. In addition of full and part time ESL and Business English, International Gateway Kelowna can provide job placement assistance, resume writing, interview techniques and vehicle purchase assistance. Services are
complimentary for IGK students. Nominal charges apply for non students.
