Farm Stays
Experience life on a ranch, farm or orchard in the beautiful Thompson Okanagan region of British Columbia!

Learn about animal husbandry, training and breeding horses, growing and harvesting fruit and vegetables and at the same time improve your English conversation skills.

Participate in activities such as horseback riding, hiking, fishing, arts and crafts, cross-country skiing and snow shoeing.

Students are placed on a ranch, farm or orchard of their choice for 1 to 6 weeks. Farmstay participants are provided a single room, shared bath and 3 meals per day and have access to laundry, telephone, internet and television. Students are required to volunteer 15 hours per week to offset the cost of their stay. This program is available year round for ages 16 and up and must be taken in conjunction with a Practical ESL/Homestay program at IGK prior to the placement. Due to the distances involved, it is not possible to commute between the farmstay and IGK for classes.

Guest Ranches
Relive the 'Olde West' with an exciting stay on a Western guest ranch. If you have always wanted to be a 'cowboy' or a 'cowgirl' this is your chance! Our partner guest ranches offer old fashioned hospitality, great food and a relaxed atmosphere. A variety of packages including meals, accommodation and hourly, daily or overnight trail rides are available for individuals or groups.
